The Holiday:
An awfully heartwrenching movie based on an unrealistically realistic storyline; not everyone starts off happyhappy people with the perfect partner and the perfect life. This, is the story for the people in love (or not) who are sad, and tied down by the many nonsensical things 'love' makes us do. Things that we often find ourselves questioning the validity of. Absolutely loved how Diaz's Amanda cannot cry but instead feels some sort of heart pangs when she faces relationship problems - I personally know how these heart pangs feel like, and I'm sure many reading know this painful though highly intangible feeling. Awesome movie, highly relateable (sp?); (paraphrased) We love the wrong person, and every single time that person does something awful we just tell ourselves it's O.K., that it is expected of this person. However, when this same person does something (unanticipated and) nice, we fall in love with this person because we are feeding our own desire to see change in him/ her - we stupidly believe that people (especially nasty ones) can, and will, change. But of course we don't realise that no, of course they won't. My entire love life can be summed up by The Holiday - loving the wrong person, unrequited love, holding on for all the wrong reasons, refusing to take the leap when I really should - except, except in my version of The Holiday, I need not to cry, but to not cry to realise what true love is/ can be.
And now, all I need to do is to forget how much fun I have with you, because fun alone cannot sustain this toxic relationship.
